This week’s Bookish Scene: Project 52 theme is „travel“, so I took this occasion to look back on my Iceland trip from almost a year ago. When I came home after a 2-week long backpacking trip I was relieved to be back in civilization but 10 months later I actually get a bit nostalgic now when I think back of this trip. I really miss watching whales and dolphins and also the waterfalls but definitely not the Icelandic weather XD

Since Iceland is quite well known for it’s crime fiction it’s no surprise that I have quite a few Icelandic novels on my bookshelves and I’m especially a fan of Yrsa Sigurdardottir since reading her ghost mystery „I Remember You“ („Geisterfjord“) which I once again strongly recommend to anyone who hasn’t read it so far 😛

BookishScene: Project 52 is a bookish Instagram challenge hosted by Joséphine (@wordrevel) and Georgie (@whatgeorgiedid), Further information can be found on both their blogs where you can also see a preview of the upcoming themes.

  • I love how blue this picture is! You didn’t see orcas in Iceland, did you? Just other whales? I still really want to go there some day, even after hearing about the weather and reading „I Remember You.“ We need to find more people to push that book on. I’m still hoping Jade will read it! (And like it more than Crini did. XD)
