This week’s Bookish Scene: Project 52 theme „Poetry“ is a dream for someone who loves poems just as much as I do. To express my raging passion for all the beautifully constructed verses in the world I put even more effort into my picture than usual and even used an artsy-fartsy black & white filter to make it look a bit more sophisticated. Feel free to search for a deeper meaning in my picture because who knows, maybe there’s a secret message? ;P

(Hint: I didn’t choose the books randomly ;D)

But seriously, there’s not a single thing about poetry that fascinates me, school has completely ruined it for me by forcing me to analyze the shit out of words that long-dead people wrote maybe even hundreds of years ago and I’m still convinced that a lot of those „great“ poets probably just were drunk all the time and didn’t even know what they were writing and now everybody is like „OH MY GOD THEIR POETRY IS SO DEEP, IT’S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING EVER“. I hated analyzing poetry in school even more than religious education and that already says A LOT about my relationship to poetry.
BookishScene: Project 52 is a bookish Instagram challenge hosted by Joséphine (@wordrevel) and Georgie (@whatgeorgiedid), Further information can be found on both their blogs where you can also see a preview of the upcoming themes.

  • You really spent a lot of time on this, considering how much you hate poetry. xD

I have it from an inside source that poets really DON’T have a deeper meaning in mind for most of the crap…I mean poems…they write, so it actually is all BS. ;P

I’m so glad I only had poetry in school and not religion. I’m not sure I could have handled both, haha.

    • God, I was so annoyed when I couldn’t find the right books for the letters I needed, it was exhausting XD But it was totally worth the effort to show my hate for poetry 😀

Haha, it’s actually nice that finally someone admits that it’s all nonsense and has no deeper meaning 😀
